35 Star American Parade Flag with Medallion Pattern,
Civil War 1863-1865

Civil War period American Parade flag displays 35 Stars in a very desirable medallion pattern configuration. The center star in the middle of the canton represents West Virginia, the 35th state to join the Union on June 20, 1863 and although it remained the official star count until July 4th, 1865 flag makers would have added a 36th star after the addition of Nevada on October 31, 1864.

Flag Size: 6 3/8" x 9 7/8” (H x L)
Frame Size: 10" x 13 ¼” (H x L)

Offered is a 35 star American National Parade Flag printed in a medallion pattern on glazed cotton; Very good condition for the period, main staining located vertically on the fly, minor staining and foxing throughout
