44 STAR AMERICAN NATIONAL PARADE FLAG, 1890-1896

44 Star Wyoming Statehood American parade flag with a rectilinear star pattern that is notched in each of the four corners, printed on coarse glazed cotton.

President Benjamin Harrison signed the statehood bill on July 10, 1890 to make Wyoming the 44th state to join the union although it would not become official until July 4th of the following year.

Flag size (HxL) 8 7/8”x 13 3/8”
Frame size (HxL) 13 ½”x 17 ¼”

Description/Condition
Presents handsomely with 44 rectilinear stars notched in each of the four corners printed on glazed cotton, the flag’s colors are strong with minor dye loss and a nice patina on the white stars and stripes; minor staining throughout; slight material loss at the top of the hoist; minor mothing less than 1/8”

Mounting
Flag is pressure mounted to pre-washed 100 % cotton black color, on acid-free backing; presented in an antique wood frame
