To the selectman or Affeffors of the Town of Falmouth Greeting &cc
In the Obedience to an Act of the great and General Court or Affemly of the faid State, began and held at Bolton. On Wednesfday the Twenty fixth Day of May, A.D. 1779, intitled,An Act for apportion-ing and affeffing a tax of two Million eight Hundred and five Thousand five hundred and thirty-eight Pounds twelve shillings and eight Pence Half-penny, upon the feveral Towns and other Place in this state herein after named, for derraing the Public Charges: And alfo for affeffing a Tax of Thirty two Thousand and Seventy five Pounds eighteen Shillings and fix Pence, paid the Members of the Housw of Reprefentatives for their Travel and Attendance in the General Court, in the Year 1778.
These are in the Name of the Government and People of the State of Maffachufetts Bay, to Will and Require you forthwith to affefs the Sum of Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred X Two Pounds 4 1979 ____________________________________
fet upon your Town, Parifh, in manner following, That is to fay, To affefs allMale poles above the Age of Sixteen Years, within your refective Town or otherPlaces next adjoining to them, belonging to no other Town or Place, Including Negros and Molattoes (and) fuch of them as are under the Government of a Mafter of Miftrefs, to be taxed to the faid Mafter of Miftrefs refpectively…
